A well-designed website begins with a home page that reaches out and engages its visitor. It's a website that makes you want to interact and makes it easy for you to do so. Flash is a multimedia platform that is used to add animation and interactivity to a website. This is in stark contrast to a static website, which is less engaging and less versatile.

While we never recommend creating your website entirely in Flash, we do recommend using Flash as a feature (typically within the home page) to bring the kind of interactivity that Web 2.0 (and Web 3.0) is all about. From Animation to "Interactive Animation"

In years past we developed animated messages that consisted of images and text that would fade in and out as a series of "scenes." This allowed us to communicate several messages without changing screens. Pretty cool right? Not any more. The old approach has given way to a new approach that is user-controlled so that you're not presenting a series of messages, rather you're giving the user the ability to interact with your message and choose their path. We can offer several different messages but we let the user click, rollover, and navigate around a page to determine what they want to see. By simply rolling over various icons on your home page, a customer can change the home page message to one that specifically targets THEIR interests and goals. A truly interactive online experience, driven by the customer - that's what Flash helps us achieve.

How We Use Flash to Create an Interactive Experience

At Butier Design we take a marketing-first approach to everything we do and this includes our Flash projects. We first determine your optimal marketing message(s). Then we determine the various messages and interactivity that visitors to your website may be interested in, and create a strategy for how those messages will be displayed through Flash. Once a general direction is approved, we will storyboard several graphic concepts to illustrate how the interactive flash presentation will flow. From there, we build your interactive animation and deploy it on your website.
